Below explains the At Home Training:
This training is NOT a suggestion, this training is an expectation when training through KI PITCHING.
KI Pitching is committed to maintaining communication with our clients beyond the lessons. Each lesson a student attends, they will receive training materials for home practice, including strength and flexibility exercises, foundational drills, and mental strength exercises if necessary. Our home training program is carefully designed, with significant time, energy, and thought invested into each one. No two home training plans are the same; they are customized for each individual child. These home trainings are not just suggestions; at KI PITCHING, completing the home trainings is expected. Students must complete the training four times per week, following the specific repetitions outlined on the training sheet given at the end of each lesson. After completing their first training, students should document the drill's name, the completion date, the total number of reps performed, and crucially, how many of the (for example) 20 reps were flawless. They are allowed only (in this case) 20 reps. There are no do-overs. Everything I do as a pitching instructor has a purpose, and I am happy to address any questions. However, this aspect of our training is absolutely crucial. My pitchers who diligently follow the trainings make rapid progress. Those who do not fully engage in the trainings, or only partially, tend not to see much improvement, which unfortunately leads to repetition of the previous week's lesson. This part of my instruction is the most critical. Before progressing, students must be able to perform 15-20 clean and sharp reps of each drill. The trainings are tailored based on the student's recent progress in the areas being targeted. At times, students may continue with the same home training plan for a month, depending on their progress. This requirement is put in place so that your investment into your child's pitching career leads to results. I do what I do because I LOVE softball, kids, and teaching. Softball has been a part of my life for 30 years now, I know what it takes, I know what effort looks like, I know what going through the motions looks like. I know when a student has done their training, and when they haven't. I take pride in my expertise and the ability to mentor these athletes, yet I typically find it unrewarding to invest time and energy in a student who shows little interest in learning. If you have any questions regarding our expectations when it comes to "at home training" please reach out and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
